Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities
As a member of our team, the primary responsibility of the control systems engineer is in the definition and development of systems, hardware and software solutions for the Control System of industrial gas turbines. Some of the activities related to the position include:
Liaising with different groups inside the company to define requirements
Assessment of needs and definition of concepts
Understanding hardware design and specifications
Modeling and simulation
Engine testing and internal technical support
Be part of the complete PLC software development life cycle which includes, requirement definition, propose and implement solutions, go through design reviews, define and execute verification and validation plan, final software release and documentation.
Required Competencies
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace or closely related
Previous experience in control systems engineering including hardware and/or software development
Practical knowledge of PLC programming tools (Allen-Bradley and Siemens) including ladder logic and structured text and/or low-level programming language such as C
Practical knowledge of methods and modeling tools for systems, such as MATLAB and Simulink
Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ), or eligible to become one
Very good command of English language, written and spoken
Intermediate level of French, written and spoken
Experience producing / executing validation and verification plans and testing scripts
Ability in structuring and solving complex problems
Miscellaneous Requirements
Hybrid role – it is mandatory to be in office 3 days per week (Montreal office)
Ability and willingness to learn new specialties

The position might require travel to visit customers and support site commissioning.
