Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities
As part of the System Engineering Department, the Flight Operations Engineer will participate, and coordinate the work needed for the definition, development and execution of the constellation operations, and the preparations, implementation, testing and verification of the operations procedures.
The Satellite Flight-Operations engineer will perform and participate in the following tasks and activities, depending on the background and experience of the candidate.
- Trade-off studies regarding the design, develop and testing of the satellite/constellation operations procedures.
- Development of Spacecraft In-Orbit Operations Procedures and oversight of their execution and associated trainings.
- Development of Satellite Operation Manuals, test procedures and oversight of their execution and associated trainings.
- Verification & Validation Matrices of the operations procedures for on-orbit commissioning, routine, and contingency operations of the mission.
- Support In-Orbit Test (IOT), anomaly resolution + FDIR.
- Support the Satellite Simulator Operation and script development.
Required Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant field
- At least 7 years of experience
- Previous experience with LEO/MEO SatOps.
- Experience with automated satellite operations and IOT
- Experience in concepts of space and ground segment design, specification and integration, knowledge of Flight Software role in operations, Satellite Database Operations concept and telemetry structure concepts.
- Knowledge in Python or other scripting languages
Miscellaneous Requirements
- AG1's Systems Tool Kit (STK)
- Requirements Management tools such as DOORS/Windchill/Jama
- Previous experience in Constellation Operations
- The design, development and testing of new automated operations flows and scripts.
- Experience creating or using models and/or simulation software.
- Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English, knowledge of French will be considered favorably
- Work can be done remotely.
- For employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office).
- The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America)
Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
