The Control Laws Engineer will work in a team focused on design, development, testing, delivering, maintaining, and supporting applications, and tool frameworks along with related methods and processes.
The main responsibilities of this position are to identify, develop, and maintain model-based applications and tool solutions that support enhanced efficiency and quality of software development.
Required competencies
- Model aircraft engine and controllers using MATLAB/Simulink
- Use of MATLAB/Simulink automatic C code generation
- Familiar with Aircraft Engine closed loop benches
- Experience with scripting and testing on closed loop benches (CLB)
- Ability to communicate and cooperate within teams and across departments.
- Integration of control law functions into flight software models with supporting requirements definition.
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering / Aerospace / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
Other Desired Competencies
- 3-5 years plus experience in similar position
- Previous working experience with Modeling / Simulation (MATLAB / Simulink)
- Embedded software development in C language
- Real-time operating systems, processor architectures, communication protocols, device drivers, communication buses, etc.
- Software development in a safety critical context (RTCA DO-178, EN 50128, IEC 62304, etc.)
- Must have the ability to prioritize a variety of assignments.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
Miscellaneous Requirements
- Work can be done remotely.
- For employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office).
- The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America)
Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
