Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities
As an Aircraft Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, integration, testing, of various systems within an aircraft, ensuring that these systems meet safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including safety and software and hardware engineers, to ensure optimal system functionality and integration. This role involves both the development of new systems and the continuous improvement of existing systems, with a focus on innovation, reliability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and analyze aircraft systems such as avionics, propulsion, hydraulics, electrical, and flight control systems.
- Perform system modeling and simulations to evaluate performance and ensure system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with aviation industry standards, regulations (FAA, EASA), and customer specifications.
- Lead and support test campaigns for aircraft system validation and verification.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to product development milestones.
- Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective actions on system failures or deficiencies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for system integration, testing, and support.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Competencies

- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions.
Preferred Competencies:
- Proficiency in systems modeling and analysis tools (MATLAB, Simulink, or similar).
- Experience with aircraft safety processes (ARP 4761)
- Knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including communications, navigation, and flight control systems.
- Familiarity with the development of aircraft manuals, including maintenance, operations, and safety procedures.
- Project management experience or certification.
- Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in aerospace engineering, such as electric aircraft, autonomous systems, and AI integration.
Miscellaneous Requirements
- Work can be done remotely.
- For employees based in Montreal, the work model is hybrid (at least one day at the office).
- The position might require travel to visit customers (in North America)
Knowledge of English is required to communicate and work with customers outside the province of Quebec. / La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour communiquer et travailler avec nos clients situés à l'extérieur de la province de Québec.
