Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities

For one of our clients in the UAV development field, we're looking for a Software Engineer - Perception with excellent technical, research and analytical skills.

As part of a Software Development team, the candidate must be comfortable working with developers with various levels of seniority and collaborate with other research teams. 

Required Competencies

• 3-5 years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, etc.) of new and existing systems in the aerospace industry.
• At least 3-5 years of professional software development experience in C / C++
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution

Preferred Technical Qualifications

• Previous experience in building complex software systems 
• Knowledge of software engineering practices & patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, etc.)
• Experience in one or several of the following: Vision Systems, Sensing, Compute Systems, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Algorithm Design, Object Detection, classification and tracking, Localization and Mapping.
• Experience in communicating with technical & business teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs.

Other Competencies (an asset)

• Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Management System
  
• Experience with architecture development for new aircraft systems
  
• Familiar with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) development and operation
